Soho House is a members’ club where creatives can come together, wherever they are in the world. With an international presence that covers everywhere from Shoreditch to Sao Paulo to San Francisco, they’ve come a long way since establishing their first House at 40 Greek Street.
With a Spring recruitment drive in mind, they needed a fresh perspective on their careers site design, accessibility and content, ready to introduce potential talent to the world of Soho House.


CRAFTING THE PERFECT “SHOP WINDOW”
The first step was to take a deep dive into the candidate experience on Soho House’s current careers site. Our UX audit analysed features and accessibility to inform our designs, layout and content and to shape a better, simpler digital journey. We took the Soho House team on a journey through their website through the eyes of our talent personas, crafted through over 20 interviews with Soho House talent from Chicago to Canouan, and Barcelona to Brooklyn.

PUTTING OUR PLAN INTO PIXELS
After we were all on the same page, it was time to dive into the careers site design. Soho House are champions of simplicity, so "refined confidence" became our design mantra. The use of white space became central to our design, balancing a simple, elegant design with all the information candidates need to understand what the culture at Soho House is all about. We approached our design with a mobile-first mindset, ensuring we were optimising our site to meet talent where they spend their time most.
We captured a picture-perfect photography suite to inject some signature personality into the website — bringing the people at the heart of Soho House’s culture to the forefront. We framed them with the iconic Soho House grid, utilising full bleed imagery, hover states and subtle animation to give the page an interactive feel.
Now it was time to tell their story through copywriting. Lines from their newly defined EVP and culture narrative were seamlessly interwoven throughout the site. We made sure to spotlight Soho House’s values and House Foundations to give potential talent a glimpse into what they could get involved in.
Audit? Tick. Design? Tick. Copy? You guessed it — tick tick tick. Now it was time to build the site. 5 developers clicked their knuckles before getting to work, translating our ideas into the language of code. Once they had worked their magic, we finally landed on a finished product that us and our stakeholders could be truly proud of.
